Asking for More

 January 7, 2018

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with temptation He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV

God will never ask more of you than you can handle. He will never put on you more than you are able to handle. In Mark chapter 3 Jesus simply asked the man with the withered hand to stretch out his hand, and it was restored. In John chapter 5, Jesus tells the leper to simply rise up and walk, and he is healed.

Maybe God is asking you to do something today. Something simple. Know that whatever He tells you to do, it will bring change in your life. Much like the bride walking down the aisle to be married knows that with every step, change is about to happen in her life.

Her standards are about to change, her social role is about to change, her relationship status is about to change, her money management is about to change, the way she is addressed is about to change, her hopes, goals and dreams are about to change. Still wanting the same things, but now sharing them with her new husband.

Whatever God is asking you to do today, it will not be out of your reach, abilities, or capabilities. Take your focus off of yourself, and put it on God. The person you see in the mirror is a reflection of Him. He is trustworthy, His love is pure, His kindness is sincere. And we are the true evidence of His existence.
